Lama Tsongkhapa and Disciples

Kadampa Center is dedicated to the practice and study of Tibetan Buddhism in the Gelugpa tradition. Lama Tsongkhapa (or Losang Dragpa) is the founder of the Gelugpa lineage, so his statue is traditionally found on Buddhist altars. His reform in the 1300s brought Tibetan Buddhism back to the practice of pure vows and morality. Lama Tsongkhapa is in the center of the three figures, surrounded by his two most important disciples, Gyeltsab Dharma Rinchen (left) and Khedrub Geleg Pelsang (right), who continued his work after his death.
